Ukulele Festival “Preview”

I am back from ukulele fest, and guys, I have a LOT of ground to cover.  I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it all in one post. If it starts getting too long, I’ll split it up like I did when I went to the Steampunk World’s Faire.

That said, it is 1:30 in the morning, and while I thought I might be able to get started tonight, I can’t. I opened wordpress, got ready to try to decide where to start…and that was about when I realized that as much as I might like to cover everything while it’s fresh in my mind, my mind is not up to the task.

Instead, I thought I’d just give you a quick preview of some of what I’m going to be talking about:

Please don’t give me that look about the uke. I know, okay? I know! It was actually cheaper at the festival than I could have bought it online though, FWIW.
So, you can see I bought two new learning books, got a lot of handouts.

I attended the below workshops:

Bass Ukulele 101-Steve Boisen

Ridiculously Non-Intimidating Intro to Music Theory on the Ukulele- Craig Chee

12 Essential Strums – Lil’Rev

A Treasury of 2 Chord Strums – Lil’Rev

Strum along with Jumpin Jim -Jim Beloff

So, I have some interesting things to talk about, when I’m fully conscious. I took notes, so hopefully will remember what I wanted to talk about tomorrow. I left the house at 8 am and didn’t get home until midnight, so you’ll forgive me if 2 am is extra late for someone who’s been up since 6 am on a Saturday. lol.

I will spend a post or two going over the event in some detail in the near future, but in the meantime, there are a few pics on the facebook page: here

Until Next Time, zzzzzz…..
