I thought this would be a good time to do some quick recordings to give myself a mile marker of where I am, so today I’m sharing some really mediocre recordings with you, which I’m not going to say much about because time constraints.

First, Lean on Me by Bill Withers – the outro is still a complete mess. I have no idea what I want to do with it, and I’m thinking of cutting the second bridge, because solo it almost feels like repeating that part gets a bit dull? Not sure.

Then, here’s a tiny little clip of the one I’ve been working on a lot recently: ‘In My Mind’ by Amanda Palmer.  I think I will have this one figured out as soon as I can remember which order the verses go in without her singing.  This one’s been taking me a while because the chord changes are in some sort of interesting places, so it took me a while just to remember to change chords in the middle of words and such. I’m getting there, though. Little by little.

I know the uke is way louder than my voice. Until I invest in a mic I don’t think I can do anything about that, so whatever. It’s just a practice track so it doesn’t really matter, anyway, as long as I can hear both well enough to tell if they’re fitting together properly.

Until Next Time, running out the door, but coming along, I suppose, at least with the ukulele.
