The last day of Office Halloween.

I’ve decided my pirate cubicle is a work of art, and therefore counts as shareable on this blog.

There's even a pirate!

And, yes, I totally have a pirate playlist rolling. Don’t judge my geeky fun.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

    1. I want to keep it up forever. It’s so fun. Though, the overhead net spent a week falling until it finally settled. I drew and arted all month. I did not quite break even with the $ I got from the decorating contest, but it wasn’t much of a hit, and it was fun, so worth the expense anyway.

      1. I don’t really think anyone lacks creativity. Some people are just more naturally wired to figure out how to take half-baked ideas out of their head and bring them into physical space. Ask me to draw a pirate ship, and I’ll run short on ideas because I won’t be sure how to effect them on paper. Tell me to turn my cubicle into one, then put a budget on it, and I will find very creative uses for cardboard and sharpies, so it’s all relative. I happen to be naturally wired for puzzles: taking pieces of seemingly unrelated things and assembling them(roomie says if ‘make stuff’ was a job title, that’s what I should be doing for a living.).

Other people are just creative in different ways. You’re a musician, so you’re definitely creative, it’s just pointed in another direction.

Also, bear in mind that I did this mostly out of spare parts and a few dollar store purchases over the span of a month, where I’m sitting in it 8 hours a day. So, it’s not like it all came together overnight. A lot of it was digging through closets going ‘this is sort of piratey/can I make this piratey?.’. The treasure chest, for example, is where I normally store my art supplies. I just happened to have it, so made use of it.

    1. I definitely got carried away. It’s the one fun thing that I get to do at work all year, though, and we don’t get trick or treaters, so I don’t decorate the house. I just have a blast when told I can make stuff.
